This awesome little guy, available now, is a 16 megapixel compact camera with HD touch display, 21x optical zoom, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, a 1.4Ghz quad-core processor and runs off Google’s Android 4.1 operating system, Jellybean, the same operating system which powers its mobile phone sibling, the Galaxy S3 Smartphone. In that regard, it’s probably easier to think of the Galaxy as a digital point and shoot strapped to a mobile phone or what would happen if a smartphone knocked boots with a camera.
Except for the fact that you can’t make or receive calls from it unless you devise some kind of DIY Get Smart hack, the internet and social media capabilities which inform the mobile phone user experience in the year 2012 are all there. You can take a super lush 16 megapixel photograph of those awesome mountain ranges you just saw, for example, edit it right there on the spot, then post it to Facebook or Instagram straight from your camera.
The future is now and it looks spectacular.
