Two And A Half Men Has Officially Been Cancelled

Better get your dick jokes while you can, ladies and gentlemen – Two And A Half Men has been cancelled.

The sitcom has run for 12 years (although it feels like it’s been way longer than that), surviving a highly entertaining public meltdown from former star Charlie Sheen, and the departure of the original half-man Angus T Jones.
The show, which currently stars Jon Cryer, Ashton Kutcher and Amber Tamblyn as the Charlie Sheen character’s previously-unseen daughter, has seen a significant ratings decline in recent years.
Sheen’s character was killed off between seasons, after being hit by a train and mashed up into a million pieces, but he may or may not be returning in some capacity for the finale.
Creator Chuck Lorre won’t exactly be feeling the pain – he still has the insanely popular Big Bang Theory under his belt, as well as Mike & Molly* and the (fuck it, we’re just going to say it) surprisingly decent Mom.
If you have some time to kill, then earlier this week, Vulture posted an excellent piece on the sorry state of the American sitcom, which is declining at a faster pace than even regular broadcast TV.
Two And A Half Men will air its final episode on February 19, 2015.

* An earlier version of this article identified 2 Broke Girls as a Chuck Lorre show, because it looks and feels just like one, but we now realise this is incorrect – our bad, sorry.
