Tom Hiddleston Is Apparently In ‘Advanced Talks’ To Be The Next James Bond

Tom Hiddleston‘s name has been thrown around the ‘James Bond‘ ring for some time now, but he’s now allegedly ahead in the fight for job.

As we reported the other day, Daniel Craig officially turned down £68 million to reprise his role as the idolised spy, with a source telling The Daily Mail,
“Daniel is done — pure and simple — he told top brass at MGM after Spectre. They threw huge amounts of money at him, but it just wasn’t what he wanted.”
While there’s heavy support for Idris Elba to take the role (mainly from us. Love you, Idris.), as well as one for Gillian Anderson to gender-switch the crap outta the spy franchise, it seems Tom Hiddleston might be closer to the gig than anyone else.
‘Birth. Movies. Death’ is reporting that a source close to Hiddleston has said that he’s in ‘advanced discussions’ for the role:

“Sources close to Tom Hiddleston have told Birth.Movies.Death. that Tom Hiddleston is in fact in advanced talks to take over the role of James Bond from Daniel Craig.

Choosing words carefully, our source confirms that while talks have indeed taken place, and that Hiddleston very much wants the job (a fact of which he’s made no secret), no official offer has been made – yet.”
A bookies in Britain even had to frantically cancel their bets on who the next James Bond would be, due to the fact that a massive influx of bets on Hiddleston forced odds down to 1-2.
Only time will tell – we’ll update you with information as it arises.
