Daniel Craig Is Officially Done With Bond After Turning Down £68M Offer

It’s official: no more Daniel Craig as James Bond. This has been assumed for some time – considering the sheer volume of online speculation as to whether Tom Hiddleston or Idris Elba will take up the mantle next – but now Craig has confirmed that he’s out.

Brit newspapers report that studio bosses wanted him to stick around, but he rejected the £68 million offers they were throwing his way. That’s a lot of cash to turn down over your stoic refusal to drink more martinis, run away from explosions and bed beautiful women. But I’m not a celebrity, and I don’t pretend to know their ways.
The Daily Mail reports that a source said: “Daniel is done — pure and simple — he told top brass at MGM after Spectre. They threw huge amounts of money at him, but it just wasn’t what he wanted.”

This backs up earlier interviews with Craig in which he said he’d only do the role for fat stacks of cash. “I’m over it at the moment. We’re done. All I want to do is move on. If I did another Bond movie, it would only be for the money.” Looks like the money isn’t enough either.
So now the rumour mills are firing up again as to who’s taking the crowd. Hiddleston is still a favourite, for some reason.

But that’s a distraction. It’s gotta be Idris.
Oooh yeah.
