These Are Officially the Most Overpaid Actors of 2014

For the second year in a row, Adam Sandler is the most overpaid actor in Hollywood.
This earth-shattering news comes to you courtesy of Forbes, who compile an annual list of Hollywood actors, comparing the revenue generated by their last three films against the size of their paychecks to determine who gives studios the most value for money.
Sandler topped the list thanks to a recent string of under-performing films, including the romantic comedy Blended, in which he starred with Drew Barrymore. For every $1 that he’s paid by studios, he makes a return of $3.20.
In light of this, it’s sort of easy to see why the good people at Sony are so sick of financing his “mundane, boring” output. For what it’s worth, Sandler’s next move will be to make four original films with Netflix, so we’ll see how that goes.
Johnny Depp is also near the top of the list, thanks to expensive flops Transcendence and The Lone Ranger, and poor, sad, handsome Ryan Reynolds joins him there, courtesy of R.I.P.D.
It’s interesting to see Channing Tatum‘s name on the list, as it seems he’s had a big few years, but the bomb that was White House Down dragged him down a bit, and his payday for the acclaimed Magic Mike wasn’t commensurate with the film’s overall success.
The full list is as follows:
1. Adam Sandler: returns $3.20 for every $1 paid.

2. Johnny Depp: returns $4.10 for every $1 paid.

3. Ben Stiller: returns $4.80 for every $1 paid.

4. Ryan Reynolds: returns $4.90 for every $1 paid.

5. Tom Hanks: returns $5.20 for every $1 paid.

6. Will Ferrell: returns $6.60 for every $1 paid.

7. Channing Tatum: returns $6.70 for every $1 paid.

8. Denzel Washington: returns $6.90 for every $1 paid.

9. Sandra Bullock: returns $9 for every $1 paid.

10. Ben Affleck: returns $9.37 for every $1 paid.
