There’s Gonna Be A ‘Rocko’s Modern Life’ TV Movie BC The 90s Never Died

Big news on the Your 90s Childhood front: Nickelodeon are bringing back ‘Rocko’s Modern Life’  in the form of a one-hour TV movie.

The show, a heartwarming tale of a wallaby who wears a Hawaiian shirt and his friend who is a cow for some reason, was one of the better ones on Nickelodeon back in the day, known for its madcap animation and kinda wild adult humour that snuck past the censors:
The original run of the show was 1993 – 1996, which was a long time ago, now that we think about it. The show’s creator, Joe Murray, will executive produce and co-direct the film. He’s keen:
What I have found by bringing these characters back is that it’s not so much about nostalgia, but a sense that they still feel relevant and fresh to me, and after 20 years, they can’t wait to comment on modern life in the 21st century. They still have a lot to say.

There’s no info on returning voice cast or anything quite as substantial as that, but fingers crossed that Rocko’s fuckin’ terrible Australian accent will be preserved in all its glory. Now where’s Cat-Dog? The people demand Cat-Dog.
