Jake Von Slatt, aka, the Steampunk combines a Victorian aesthetic with DIY to create some (very) old-skool looking high-tech machinery. He has made – or reconstructed rather, a fully functioning computer keyboard, LCD monitor, all-in-one PC, headphones, a motorbike, and even a car, all of which look like they are from the nineteenth century.
Von Slatt is inspired by the sub-genre of Steampunk, and also by Jules Vern, H.G. Wells, the film ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’, and by some of the old retro-futuristic Disney films.
