Screen Junkies’ Honest Trailers have a fine tradition of dropping awkward truth bombs on beloved cinematic fare – they recently did Magic Mike, and this time around, it’s everyone’s favourite smug superhero, genius billionaire playboy philanthropist Iron Man.
“From the company that went bankrupt in the ’90s and sold off the rights to its post popular characters comes a film based on the equivalent of leftover scrap metal,” begins the voice over, to which … indeed.
Iron Man was a relatively unknown property at the time of the first movie, but Marvel hit it so big thanks to the first film’s success that it became the template for many, many more films to come.
