The Second Trailer For ‘Iron Man 3’ Is Even Darker, Better Than The First

Someone great [Oprah] once said, “You can have it all, just not all at once,” a piece of advice Tony Stark could stand to heed in the second trailer for a much darker Iron Man 3.

Robert Downey Jr.’s third whirl as Stark, the insomniac billionaire who “builds neat stuff” and “has a great girl” in GOOP’s Pepper Potts, is part of Marvel’s Second Phase reboot of their comic book multiverse, meaning that gone are the smug one-liners and the light-hearted fun of the prequels and in their place emerges grand dramatic themes of hubris, honour, revenge and literally much darker set lighting befitting Stark’s battle with an equal parts citric and xenophobic-sounding villain in Ben Kingsley’s The Mandarin.

Guy Pearce, Don Cheadle and an army of Iron Men round out an impressive cast expected to land with a fiery thud in theatres come May.
