‘Suicide Squad’ Director Praises Jared Leto’s “Menacing” Joker Performance

It would appear that Jared Leto took the role of his heavily-tattooed Suicide Squad Joker very, very seriously indeed.
A few months back, he described the acting process as “like giving birth out of my prick hole”, while co-star Will Smith claimed never to have met the real Jared Leto, as he was always in character while on set.
In a recent interview with Total Film, director David Ayer added to the general din of Squad hype by praising Leto’s performance, and explaining the effect he had on those around him.
Ayer said:

“When he steps onto the set the world stops … Everything stops. What he’s done is so powerful, so menacing, so palpable, you can feel him. The crew stops working and just watches him. I have to get everybody going again because he’s so fascinating.”
DC’s recent superhero gang-bang Batman v Superman got poisonous reviews, but still smashed it at the box office, which probably makes them more bullish for Suicide Squad’s prospects when it’s released this August.
TBH, based on the trailer, our anticipation level for this one is high.
