As the title has straight up laid out, Oscar winner and shining light of delight Lupita Nyong’o and fierce as sin Brienne of Tarth/Gwendoline Christie have officially joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.
Lucasfilm made the announcement via www.starwars.com with a statement from president Kathleen Kennedy reading: “I could not be more excited about Lupita and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII. It’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape.”
They join John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.
In an unfortunate turn of events TMZ is the only site to have “obtained pics from the ultra-secretive set” so, if you want to see more, you’ll have to wade through lines like “Jedi sources tell us” and “(Star Wars nerds get it)” to see on set.
They do also reiterate promises made by the filmmakers that they won’t be relying too heavily on CG in the new episodes, which is beyond promising. Head HERE to see the rest.
