Star Wars’ soundtrack composer John Williams ought to take yet another bow, ’cause his deadset iconic themes are still spine-tinglingly good even when they’re given the ol’ Jimmy Fallon Acapella Mish-Mash treatment.
Obviously, wrangling the main players in The Force Awakens to his hive of scum and villainy – aka, The Tonight Show – just wasn’t enough of a coup for Fallon, which is why we’re now bearing witness to these unthinkably cheery renditions. Having The Roots as your cantina band doesn’t hurt either.
Youngbloods Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaacs, Gwendoline Christie and Lupita Nyong’o join mainstays Carrie Fisher, C3-PO and R2-D2 for the singalong. Particular highlights include Harrison Ford’s lovably restrained input, and watching Questlove’s ‘fro awaken from the force of a Stormtrooper helmet.
