Sophie Turner Teases An “Unpredictable” Ending For ‘Game Of Thrones’

We still have no firm idea of when Game Of Thrones Season 8 will be upon us – all we know at this stage is that it will have seven episodes and will premiere some time in 2019 – but in a recent interview, your girl Sophie Turner promised fans an “unpredictable” ending to the beloved series.

Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the show, shot her final scenes earlier this year, and in a recent interview with Digital Spy, she said: “For me – without giving anything away, I guess – I was satisfied with how unpredictable the show’s ending really is.” She continued:

“People have come up with so many fan theories about how it’s going to end, and who will end up where, and who will end up with who. It really is so unpredictable the way that it ends up. I’m very satisfied with that, and I think that the fans will be satisfied with that, too. Well, we hope. We’ll see!”

In the context of Game Of Thrones, a show that bumps off important characters left and right and treats grisly murders the way that The Bachelor treats rose ceremonies, “unpredictable” could mean any number of different things, although it probably means more grisly murders, hey.

Sophie Turner also said that showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have “upped the ante” this time around, and that there will be a number of “nice big battle scenes” in the concluding run of episodes. In an earlier chat with Gold Derby, the actress said:

“I can tell you that there’s definitely a coming together of people. Everyone is coming together to fight the impending doom. There’s a lot of tension between these little groups, battling for what they think is right.”

That would also appear to support the “more grisly murders” theory, but I guess we’ll just have to wait until 2019 to find out for sure.
