The afternoon celebration was held at Rayne Church, close to the 900-year-old Wardhill Castle, and guests included numerous Thrones stars like Emilia ClarkePeter DinklageMaisie Williams and Sophie Turner.

Speaking of which, just take a minute to really appreciate this incredible photo of the reunited Stark sisters:

The couple were sprinkled with rose petal confetti as they left the ceremony, and drove off in a Land Rover decorated with ‘JUST MARRIED’ signs. Fans and members of the public gathered on nearby roads to wish them well.

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie met in 2012 while shooting Thrones, and their characters, Jon Snow and Ygritte, had a romance on the show. They kept their relationship fairly low-key, only taking it public in 2016 when they attended the Olivier Awards together.

Telling Jonathan Ross about his proposal, Harington said:

“I was going to string up some lights in some trees and do all the romantic stuff, but we were in the country and we were sort of under this beautiful night sky and had a log fire burning and red wine and … I popped my question a bit early.”

Harington still stars on the show, while Leslie appears on US legal drama The Good Fight.
