It’s January, folks, and there are certain things we can always count on this time of year – the weather’s still rubbish, the Australian Open‘s almost upon us, and Channel Ten‘s getting ready to dump another batch of semi-famous people into the jungle for our collective amusement.
Last year, Shane Warne was the designated shit-stirrer, and if current reports are to be believed, then shock jock, Project panellist and generally extremely outspoken individual Steve Price is set to bring his particular brand of cantankerousness to the third season of the show.
Ten have not revealed the names of any of this year’s contestants yet, but according to The Daily Telegraph‘s Confidential, a ‘source’ – how we love them – has cracked the code, and reckons that Pricey’s unusual work schedule throughout January makes him a lock to appear on the program.
“Pricey loves a good holiday,” the source said. “So it makes sense that he’s going to be in the jungle because he has come back on air early. All the main hosts have extra time off and come back at the end of January, but he needs to clock up a few more weeks before he takes off into the jungle.”
Price sent out a Tweet earlier today telling his followers “don’t believe the gossip”, so I guess it comes down to whether you believe him or the Daily Tele’s intel:

Steve Price causes controversy pretty much every time he opens his mouth – most recently, he was the subject of a petition in which tens of thousands of fans demanded that the other Project panellists apologise to him for their “leftist bullying” in the wake of Donald Trump‘s election win.
If he joins the cast of the show, as is rumoured, he can definitely be counted upon to stir up confrontations with the other contestants and generate bulk headlines.
Olympian Lisa Curry is strongly rumoured to be taking part in season three, alongside Natalie Bassingthwaite and Holly Valance.
