Why, hello there. This is your friendly reminder that SBS Movies has launched on Channel 32 and as of today (Saturday, 6 July), there’s a Studio Ghibli marathon every weekend in July. That’s every Saturday and Sunday from 6:00am to 7:30pm free-to-air.

The marathon goodness celebrates SBS’ new 24-hour channel, your new stop for the very best of the world’s cinema. I’m a basic bitch so I’ve already watched Amélie thrice.
Back to the Studio Ghibli marathon, you can expect to see a collection of your favourites – not all, but enough to sate your appetite.
In no particular order, there’s:
The Cat Returns
Kiki’s Delivery Service
Laputa: Castle In The Sky
Ponyo
The Secret World Of Arrietty
The Boy And The Beast
The Castle Of Cagliostro
From Up On Poppy Hill
Howl’s Moving Castle
Mary and the Witch’s Flower
Spirited Away
Summer Wars
Tales From Earthsea
The Wind Rises
When Marnie Was
The Red Turtle
My Neighbour Totoro
As of about 4:00pm this Saturday afternoon, a dubbed Kiki’s Delivery Service is currently playing and My Neighbour Totoro is up next at 5:50pm. If you miss today’s viewing, there’s always tomorrow’s… and next weekend, and the weekend after that, and the weekend after that.
According to Sunday’s (7 July) schedule, expect to see encores of Ponyo (6:00am), The Secret World of Arrietty (8:00am), Laputa: Castle in the Sky (9:45am), Kiki’s Delivery Service (12:05pm), My Neighbour Totoro (2:05pm), The Secret World of Arrietty (3:45pm), Ponyo (5:30pm), and SBS Movie’s first viewing of Spirited Away (7:30pm). You can read the schedule HERE.
PLEASE NOTE: these works of arts won’t be available on SBS on Demand hence the encores so cancel all your plans right now.
That’s it from me, you can learn more about SBS Movies right HERE.
Happy Marathoning.
