In some kick-ass news, Sandra Bullock has teamed up with Netflix again, this time to produce – and potentially star in – the film adaptation of the Reborn series by legend Mark Millar and Greg Capullo.

Millar is a New York Times best-selling author who also has the comic books Wanted, Kick-Ass, and Kingsman: The Secret Service on his CV – all of which have been turned into films.

Bullock, who most recently starred in the streaming giant’s mightily successful flick Bird Box, will partner with It producer Roy Lee and Miri Yoon from Vertigo Entertainment.

The Lego Batman Movie director Chris McKay will helm the film.

The sci-fi fantasy series introduces us to 80-year-old Bonnie Black who does not believe in an afterlife. When she dies, Bonnie is reborn into Adystria – a fantasy world in a raging battle between good and evil.

Bonnie, now 25-years-old in Adystria, meets her dad, Tom, and her childhood dog but sees no sign of her husband Harry – who was murdered ten years ago.

With her dad and loyal doggo in tow, Bonnie sets out to find Harry but little does she know that her arrival in Adystria has been prophesied and a great evil is awaiting her.

Millar celebrated the news online tweeting: “Remember we sold Millarworld to Netflix? ‘Reborn’ is the latest beauty in the pipeline and we just teamed up with Sandra Bullock and @buddboetticher [McKay]. Copying my pal and genius artist @GregCapullo!”

Deadline‘s sources say Bullock may star in the series but no official cast announcements have been made yet.

Millar’s other works Jupiter’s Legacy and American Jesus have also been adapted into Netflix Original series – yet to be released. Empress, Huck, and Sharkey The Bounty Hunter have been adapted into films – yet to be released.

In short, Millar, Bullock, and Netflix together? Good. Very good.

In its first seven days, Bird Box had been viewed by over 45 million Netflix accounts.
