‘PLL’ Just Scored A Spinoff & It Actually Sounds Like Solid Viewing

Pretty Little Liars only stopped shooshing us a little over three months ago, however, it was just announced that the disgustingly popular seven-season series has a spin-off in the works. Now, spin-offs can usually be shit. But this one – dubbed Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists – actually looks like it might be the goods.

How can I assume such things? Well, basically because it’ll have all the same ingredients as PLL. Firstly, it’s based on a book series (The Perfectionists) by the same author as PLL, Sara Shepard.

Secondly, it’ll have the same writer / exec producer, Marlene King, and thirdly (and most importantly IMO), it’ll star star Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish, who will be reprising their roles as Alison DiLaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal respectively.

Yaaas bish

While Freeform (the cable network that helmed PLL), Marlene and Warner Horizon teamed up to adapt The Perfectionists novels back in 2014, the show has now eventuated into a PLL spinoff and Freeform has given the pilot order for the show. Translation? It’s as good as bloody well happening, even if there isn’t quite a solid release date yet.

What do we know so far? It’ll be set in a town called Beacon Heights (doesn’t quite have the etch Rosewood feel to it, but that’s OK) where everything seems hunky dory but is far from it.

According to Deadline, it’s everyone’s – incl. college students and overachieving residents – need to appear peachy-fucking-keen that leads to the town’s first murder. Yep, this is the familiarity I need in my life. “I can’t wait to introduce our fans – and Sasha and Janel – to a new world of thrills and chills in Beacon Heights,” Marlene said.

Will it also have a theme song to keep y’all awake at night? Bloody hope not.
