Some rather awkward snaps have emerged from Adidas’ Holi celebrations in Mumbai, India with celebrity guests including Aussie chef and model, Sarah Todd and American rapper, Pharrell Williams. But as the pics show, Pharrell either has resting sad face, was suffering jet lag or just couldn’t keep up with the party. If it’s the latter, I don’t blame him, you need a special kind of energy to be on Holi’s level.
Bollywood star, Ranveer Singh hosted the event for Adidas Originals who were launching a new collection in the city and decided to take part in the Holi festivities. Holi celebrates the coming of spring and the triumph of good over evil. People who celebrate the festival do so with coloured powder and lots of dancing and music. Each powdered colour also has meaning – blue represents the Hindu God Krishna; green symbolises new beginnings; yellow represents turmeric and its use as a natural remedy, and red represents fertility.
So the party was happening and all the snaps started to emerge on Twitter.
Here’s a look at Pharrell either doing the mannequin challenge or taking the worst selfie ever:

The jet lag is real.
But I mean, Pharrell said it himself, the party “was NEXT LEVEL”.

“You guys, my experience at yesterday’s Holi fest, was NEXT LEVEL. The music was beyond anything I have ever heard. My family, my team and I had an incredible time…I love India and am so inspired. Thank you so much @adidasoriginals for hosting us yesterday.”
Here are some more snaps with a sort-of smile:

Fans were quick to drop a giggle and draw parallels between Pharrell and that time Ed Sheeran went to India and also wiped out pretty hard:
Bombay first destroyed Ed Sheeran’s soul, and now destroyed Pharrell. Who’s next? pic.twitter.com/XB8YV0yv4p

Not gonna lie though, the party looked hella amazing:

Maybe bring a Gatorade next time, Pharrell.
