Human Puppy, Timothée Chalamet Melts Hearts At The ‘Spirit Awards’

Apart from hosts, Nick Kroll and John Mulaney being legendary savages at last night’s 2018 Film Independent Spirit Awards, human puppy Timothée Chalamet was doing a heckin’ good job at making everyone fall in love with him. With nominations hitting him left, right, and centre for his performance in, Call Me By Your Name, a film set in the 80s about young love between two men, no one really expected the guy to be so down to earth. But he is, and now we love but also hate him for being too much of a good egg.

Timothée took out the award for best male lead in a drama for his performance in the film and everyone was very proud, especially since it was his first Spirit Awards nomination.

Also, the guy learned Italian for the movie and how to play the guitar and piano like dude, chill.

So, firstly Timothée rocked up looking like a ‘gas station attendant’ and everyone was kinda puzzled but they went with it. Edgy hipster, gas station attendant? You pick.

Nick Kroll made sure to make a joke about Timothée taking a break from the gas station to come to the awards show, which he copped on the chin like a good lad. He even started his award speech with, “Gasoline, or petrol, is a transparent petroleum derived liquid that is used primarily as a fuel…” to really own his look. What a babe.

He was also awfully sweet in his acceptance speech as he thanked the industry and highlighted the importance of independent films.

He also said:

“This is crazy. Two years ago I could do a movie not worrying about whether I have sex with a peach or not ‘cos nobody knew who I was! So, now I gotta worry a little bit more.”

Oh, Timothée.

The guy may be twenty-two, but sometimes he’s twelve…no really, he dabbed on the way up to accept his award:

But the best part has to be when he face-timed a sleepy looking Armie Hammer, his co-star in Call Me By Your Name, and showed everyone:

You can watch his full acceptance speech below:

Call Me By Your Name is nominated for three Oscars including Best Picture, Best Writing Adapted Screenplay, and Best Actor for who else but Timothée, himself.
