It was quite a surprise to learn that Peaches Geldof was going to write a childrens book in the style of Bret Easton Ellis – at least, that’s what everyone was talking about this morning after the Telegraph quoted the socialite/model/rock offspring/blog fodder saying, “I’m writing a book of short stories for children. The stories aren’t like Roald Dahl, though, more like Bret Easton Ellis.” Cue uproar to the tune of what kind of maniac slut writes a Bret “American Psycho” Easton Ellis inspired picture book for primary schoolers?!?! As it turns out, not Peaches Geldof.
She has kindly put a handbrake on the rumour and subsequent outrage via tweet:
So does that mean she’s writing a Bret Easton Ellis style book that ISN’T for children? Or that she isn’t writing a book at all? Peaches, tweet on! – we need this confusion resolved as soon as possible or life cannot go on. Please stop eating sushi with your boyfriend, Eli Roth, while wearing a t-shirt decorated with a photo of your boyfriend, Eli Roth, so we can clarify this situation once and for all. PEACHES?!?!
