The Inmates Of Litchfield Reveal ‘OITNB’ Is Ending After Seven A+ Seasons

They’ve been incarcerated. They’ve rioted. They’ve fallen in love, temporarily escaped, and sold used underwear on the black market. Now, Netflix has confirmed what will happen to the women of Litchfield Penitentiary after season seven of Orange Is The New Black: they’ll leave our screens.

In a heart-punching announcement on social media, the beloved show’s cast – including Emmy Award winner Uzo Aduba, Taylor Shilling, Laura Prepon, Danielle Brooks, and Australia‘s own Yael Stone – revealed the next season of the prison dramedy will be its last.

The video also reveals the very last time we’ll see new episodes on the streaming service will be February next year.

The announcement comes after a stellar five years for Jenji Kohan‘s beloved show. In addition to scooping up a tonne of awards, Orange Is The New Black helped to make stars of cast members like Samira Wiley and Ruby Rose, and was instrumental in building Netflix’s suite of original programming.

Catch you in the cell block come February, we guess.
