Smouldering 2000s heartthrob Chad Michael Murray appeared in One Tree Hill, Gilmore Girls and a number of your quivering adolescent sexual fantasies, and now he’s back again, flexing his literary muscles with the release of a new novel.
Per reports in news and current affairs publication US Weekly, Murray has penned an “adventure-thriller-romance novel” called American Drifter, which is about an American soldier backpacking through Rio de Janeiro.
Murray says that the plot of the novel came to him in a dream, because of course it did, because everything about this story is perfect. He told the publication:
“The dream had played out so vividly, as if I was a fly on the wall watching this tale go down. Also, at that time, I had been searching for a story that would resonate with the youth of the world in a way that would make us feel the light and excitement for adventure.”
The book is co-authored by Heather Graham – not that Heather Graham, unfortunately – and is due for release in November 2017, which seems like an unfairly long time away.
Until then, we’ll be intensely studying the above picture of Murray and Hilary Duff at the 2003 Teen Choice Awards and thinking back on a more innocent time.
