Nick Gordon Held Legally Responsible For Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Death

An Atlanta court has held Nick Gordon to be legally responsible for the 2015 death of his girlfriend Bobbi Kristina Brown, daughter of the late singer Whitney Houston.
In January 2015, Brown was found face-down and immersed in a bathtub at her Georgia home; she was taken to hospital and placed in a medically-induced coma, but her condition deteriorated and she died in July.
A wrongful death lawsuit brought by her estate alleged that she died following a violent domestic altercation with Gordon, after which he placed her, unconscious, in the bath, and injected her with various drugs.
In addition to this, the suit contained allegations of ongoing domestic abuse by Gordon, and claimed that he made unauthorised transfers totalling $11,000 from her bank account while she was hospitalised.
On Friday, Gordon failed to appear at a scheduled court date, the second time he had done so. As a result, Judge T. Jackson Bedford of Atlanta’s Fulton County Superior Court, said that he has admitted his liability by omission.
Brown’s legal team released a statement late yesterday, saying:

“We have said all along that we believed Nick Gordon was responsible for the death of Bobbi Kristina Brown. This judgment confirms our belief. Mr. Gordon had every opportunity to appear in Court and attempt to clear his name. He declined.”
Bobbi Kristina’s father Bobby Brown, who joined the $10m wrongful death suit this year, released a statement of his own, saying:
“I am pleased with the outcome of today’s court proceedings. All I ever wanted was answers relating to who and what caused my daughter’s death. Today’s judgment tells me it was Nick Gordon. Now I need to process all the emotions I have and lean on God to get me and my family through this.”
When Whitney Houston accidentally drowned in a bathtub before the 2012 Grammy Awards, Bobbi Kristina was named he sole beneficiary of her estate.
