More details about the return of Big Brother have been revealed and it looks like they’re seriously upping the anti with the new generation of inmates, I mean, housemates.

The new Channel 7 format will shake things up and make some major changes to the international reality show, TV Blackbox reports.

First of all, the entire season will finish shooting before the first episode airs, which is a big game changer ‘coz it means there’ll be no live eliminations or public voting.

Instead housemates will vote against each other.

Production sources say that the isolation of the contestants will be a positive change to the game in a way that has not yet been done in Australia.

The format has been described to the site as “Survivor in a warehouse” because Survivor’s Executive Producer is running the ship but also because the house will be built in a studio.

Endomol Shine has reportedly been looking for ways to “trim the fat” and filming the entire thing within their available facilities will be a big money saver.

There’s also currently talk of there being no host this year, despite former host Gretel Killeen and ex housemate Chrissie Swan throwing their hats in the ring.

Apparently Killeen’s asking price was far too high for the network and former voiceover Mike Goldman has not been approached, meaning they’ll likely be hiring a voiceover artist.

Filming is set to kick off in April 2020, with the series airing in August, after the Olympics.
