The Wachowskis (The Matrix, Cloud Atlas) have unveiled their first ever stint into the world of television today, as Netflix’s latest original series has released its first teaser trailer.
And it looks freaking excellent.
Titled ‘Sense8’, the sci-fi series follows eight strangers—hailing from different corners and cultures of the globe—who discover a mental connection among themselves – where languages and skills become interchangeable in a freak evolutionary glitch. It’s ‘Heroes‘ meets ‘Matrix’ meets ‘Lost‘ (maybe?) and its full first season will drop on Netflix in a matter of weeks – on June 5.
‘Sense8’ already has the typically sleek Wachowski touch—a bullet time sequence is here, no less—but the sibling duo have announced that the series will explore a variety of progressive and timely themes- including sexuality, identity and bigotry.
