MY EMOTIONS: Judd Apatow Teases Us With ‘Freaks And Geeks’ Revival

If you show us someone who knows a short-lived series that managed to incubate more top-shelf talent than Freaks and Geeks, we’ll show you a bloody liar. Now, sixteen years after Paul Feig and Judd Apatow’s single-season baby thrust James Franco, Jason Segel, Seth Rogen…

*deep breath*

Linda Cardellini, Martin Starr and John Francis Daley into the fawning public eye, Apatow told reporters the show may not be done just yet.

In response to a critic’s (rightful) assertion that Netflix has a serious fetish for reviving shows in the vein of F & G, Apatow said “all of those characters died in a super-max prison” OITNB crossover, anyone? – before adding “you never know. It could happen,” despite the show’s unexpectedly perfect ending.
Which, in our wonderful make-believe land of hype, is a total confirmation.

He also jibed that Franco’s probably gone and done Series 2 on his lonesome, the madman/auteur that he is.

TBH, letting the show rest as a perfect gem of pre-millennial insight still ranks pretty highly against any future meddlings, by Apatow, Franco or otherwise. Seeing all of those faces together again near the William McKinley High School Campus? Oh boy. Oh. Boy.

Until then, Apatow’s just cooked up a new series with Netflix by the name of Love, which will hopefully ease your nostalgic cravings.
