Judd Apatow’s Year One Trailer

From recent hits Anchorman, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad, Pineapple Express and all the way back to Freaks And Geeks Judd Apatow’s comedic track record speaks for itself. With such an impeccable body of work however will his newest feature “Year One” live up to the astronomical standards expected of the multi-tasking writer, director and producer? Judging from the trailer alone maybe not…

Year One (which he produced) takes viewers all the way back to 1 AD and follows Apatow regular Michael Cera and ubiquitous funnyman Jack Black as they make Biblical referencing gags in the vein of Monty Python’s Life of Brian. The trailer is kinda funny but also kinda cheesy, so I’m not too sure if it will hit the mark like his back catalogue, but maybe that’s because I find Jack Black a tad annoying. I did get a glimpse of Paul Rudd and David Cross though so the supporting cast is just as stellar as the leads. Lets hope that Michael Cera and David Cross reunite on the big screen in the not too distant future (hint hint).
