Mums Get Murderous In Trailer For HBO’s Aussie-Inspired ‘Big Little Lies’

If the thought of a future in which the white-collar school run is your norm didn’t strike fear into your heart, one watch of the full trailer for HBO‘s upcoming suburban thriller ‘Big Little Lies’ – based on the insanely-popular book of the same name by Aussie author Liane Moriarty – surely will.

It stars Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley as the parents of kindergartners “whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder” and is essentially a delicious cocktail of bitchy mummy cliques, familial drama and screaming kids with a side of kitchen sex.
If this trailer’s anything to go by, which it is, producers have nailed Moriarty’s kinda-real-but-not world.

Take a look:

And yep, that is Laura Dern and Alexander Skarsgård you spotted – the cast is bloody brilliant.

HBO’s seven-part series premieres stateside in February of next year, and will no doubt be picked up by a local network, given Moriarty’s thrillers – which also include ‘The Husband’s Secret’, ‘Truly Madly Guilty’ and ‘What Alice Forgot’ – are the staple of every Aussie book club.

OUR BODIES ARE READY.
