HBO Adaption Of Aussie Bestseller ‘Big Little Lies’ Looks Juicy As Fuck

Few Aussie authors are better at spinning white-collar crime than Liane Moriarty, she of ‘The Husband’s Secret’, ‘Truly Madly Guilty’ and ‘What Alice Forgot’.
But of all her bestsellers, 2014 novel ‘Big Little Lies’ is the first to get the silver screen treatment courtesy of HBO and fts. a hugely impressive cast that includes Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley, Laura Dern and Alexander Skarsgård. Add David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal’ and ‘The Practice’) as creator and Jean-Marc Vallée as director and you’ve got a pretty solid foundation for highly watchable telly.
The twisty plot follows “three mothers of kindergartners whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder” i.e. the perfect suburban thriller and, though it’s not airing until next year, we’ve got our 1st teaser trailer.
Catch a look:

What we can ascertain from those 60 secs? It looks to be a true-ish representation of Liane’s made-up world, bar one murder weapon (our lips are sealed), with a side-serve of kitchen sex, familial drama and screaming kids.

The seven-part series premieres next year, date tba.

We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more news and *you* posted.
