There’s may be some truth to the crazy Kelly Kapoor – Ryan Howard storyline on the US version of the The Office. It turns out that Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak, have had an ongoing on-again-off-again relationship IRL… for many years.
Random House have allegedly given them a whopping $7.5million contract for the book, which will focus on their tumultuous relationship slash ‘friends with benefits’ slash friends situation.
According to the NY Daily, they’ve previously been reasonably hush-hush about their relationship, but Kaling did admit that Novak broke her heart at age 24, and had he not, she ‘might have married him then’.
Around the same time, Novak talked to People Magazine about Mindy and their relationship: “A really complicated person and a really complicated friendship, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.”
