A Wrinkle in Time came out in the U.S on Thursday and it’s already smashing the box office with an easy $13 million under its belt. The Disney fantasy flick stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, and Chris Pine among a handful of talented actors and is predicted to rival Black Panther at the box office. There’s been a lotta hype around the book-turned-film, especially from Mindy’s The Office co-star, B.J. Novak.
B.J. AKA Ryan took to Twitter to congratulate his co-star and things got very emotional very quickly.
“When I met @mindykaling she lived in a small apartment on Fairfax Ave. This is what’s in front of the building today. Congrats Mindy and a future congrats to all those who see you in it and are inspired to do great things. @WrinkleInTime”

Don’t you just love it in when actors are nice people in real life too?
Ofc, Mindy saw the tweet and replied.
Oh my god I’m like full crying. I will never be mad at you again https://t.co/aaikJtxSYC

Same.
If you’re an Office fan you’ll defs remember the on-screen couple running away into the sunset to be together forever in the series finale and that’s all I can think about right now.
A Wrinkle in Time directed by Ava DuVernay is based on the 1962 novel of the same name by Madeleine L’Engle and tells the story of Meg Murry (Storm Reid) who goes to rescue her astrophysicist father, Mr Murry (Chris Pine) on a different planet. Meg teams up with her younger brother Charles Wallace (Deric McCabe), school mate Calvin O’Keefe (Levi Miller) and three mysterious astral travelers by the names of Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon), Mrs. Who (Mindy Kaling) and Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey). Yeah, so that cast is pretty insane with heaps of representation so it’s already a must-see in my books TBH. Oh yeah, the stunning and extremely talented Gugu Mbatha-Raw also stars in the film as Mrs.Murry. #justtakemymoney
Reviews of the film hit Twitter today and they’re mostly positive. The only problem fans seem to be having is that it is a ‘lil different to the book and first film adaption…surprise, surprise.

A Wrinkle in Time is a fine, simple, positive kids’ movie (this packed field trip audience loved all but a kiss at the end). Not really for me. But Storm Reid is a great discovery.

I’m seeing a lot of women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s wondering how Wrinkle in Time will hold up to their childhood visualization. I suggest not thinking of it that way. Nothing will match that childhood imagination. This is a movie interpretation of the book for a new generation.
