Last year’s Bachelor Matt Agnew wowed audiences when he emerged after a period of hiding with a new look (or rather, Agnew look).
Following his stint on the dating show, he’s presumably returned to his quiet but comfortable life as a whip-smart astrophysicist. Hell, he didn’t even bother keeping up the charade of making it seem like he and his winner Chelsea McLeod were actually a thing as they called it quits just nine weeks after the show ended, which he announced with the following emotional Instagram post:

Now, speaking to the Herald Sun over the weekend, Matt Agnew explained that his disappearance was “intentional” as he was craving “normality.”
“It was an element of normality I was seeking, but the big thing for me was I was just putting myself back together. I did not come out of both the show and the relationship in great shape and I needed time with my close friends and family to pick myself up and put myself back together.”
He went on to say that he doesn’t regret doing the show, which is nice to hear.
“I certainly don’t regret it, it did not work out for me, but it has worked out for a lot of people in the past,” he said.

His resurfacing comes just after a mate of his ex Chelsea appeared on the So Dramatic! podcast and claimed that Matt Agnew “was a real prick to her and yelled at her, and he was mean to her.” Big yikes.

It’s not the first time rumours circulated about Matt’s treatment of Chelsie. Shortly after filming wrapped, fellow contestant Rachael Arahill posted a bunch of comments on Chelsie’s Insta, insinuating that there was more to the story.
