Hey, do you want to see something objectively perfect?

That, friends, is the first of many, many looks at gun Rami Malek in the upcoming Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, portraying none other than Freddie Mercury.

From that glimpse alone, it’s pretty apparent Malek has what it takes to strut like Mister Fahrenheit himself: the pout, the jawline, the cocked shoulder and that half-length mic stand are all reminiscent of Mercury’s iconic 1985 Live Aid performance.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Malek says he’s busy perfecting his voice to give the legend the representation he deserves.

“We’re going to use Freddie as much as possible and use myself as much as possible,” Malek says, adding that he’s spending time at Abbey Road to finesse the finer details.

Director Bryan Singer also spoke to EW, saying the flick wouldn’t stray too far into Queen’s latter years and Mercury’s death from AIDS. He described the upcoming film as a “celebration”, which is a markedly different take from the failed Sasha Baron-Cohen take on the story.

The Malek-lead film will premiere in the US on Christmas next year. Don’t stop it now, mates.
