Lindsay Lohan is reportedly “heartbroken and bewildered” by the intense criticism she received after she live-streamed herself attempting to help a homeless family before accusing them of child trafficking in Moscow on Saturday.
The responses to the video were as expected with users on social media both mocking and criticising the actor for the way she spoke and acted in the live-stream.
Now, a source close to Lohan has spoken exclusively to HollywoodLife to shed some light on the subject.
The insider, 110% batting for Lohan, said the 32-year-old is “heartbroken and bewildered by the backlash and ridicule she’s been subjected to over the refugee video she posted.”
“As Lindsay sees it, it’s apparent she’s trying her hardest to help these people. She’s even communicating with them in their own language, and how many Americans can speak Arabic? Yet, everybody just wants to ridicule her for it.”
The source continues that Lohan “wasn’t trying to ‘abduct’ anybody, and she thought that was obvious in the video.”
“All she wanted was to provide somewhere warm, safe and comfortable for the whole family to stay, instead of them having to be on the street.
“When the mother and father rejected her help, Lindsay wanted to take the children somewhere safe, so at least they would be OK for the night, and she made it clear that she would return the children to their parents the next day.”

In short, Lohan filmed herself attempting to help a homeless family. In the Instagram Live video, footage begins with Lohan in the back of a car telling her followers about a “Syrian refugee family” sitting on the footpath outside.
When she approaches them Lohan offers to give the family – three children and two adults – money for a hotel but they refuse.
“You should not have them [your sons] on the floor, you should be a hard-working woman and you should be doing what [you can] for your children, so they have a better life.
“If someone is offering them a home and a bed, which is me at the moment, give it to them. They will come back to you. I’m a good person but really, this is not right.”
When the family begin to gather their belongings to leave, Lohan follows them and accuses the adults of child trafficking.
“Look what’s happening, they’re trafficking children… I won’t leave until I take you. Now I know who you are, don’t fuck with me. Hey kids… this is not Arab… you’re ruining Arab culture by doing this… The whole world is seeing this right now, I will walk forever. I’ll stay with you [the boys] don’t worry.”
The confrontation ends when Lohan appears to reach for one of the children. Immediately, his mother attacks Lohan and pushes her to the ground.
