Let’s face it, 2020 is pretty much beyond repair at this point, but 2021 still has a glimmer of hope and that glimmer’s name is Lindsay Lohan.
This year, the former child star was forced to give up her judging spot on The Masked Singer Australia due to the COVID-19 border closures, which, according to her bestie and fellow judge Jackie O, really “upset” her.
But TV Blackbox has revealed that with border laws loosening up (especially for the rich and famous, SMDH), Lindsay will be returning as a judge on the Aussie talent show in 2021.
Dina Lohan, momager of Lindsay Lohan, subsequently shared the article on her Instagram and captioned it with applause emojis. The post was also like by Lindsay herself, so it’s looking pretty legit.
After it was announced that Lindsay Lohan was being replaced by comedian Urzila Carlson, Jackie O revealed that Lindsay was “so upset” that she could not take part this year.
“We’ve stayed in touch after she was on the panel last year,” the radio host told WHO. “She’s so upset that she couldn’t make it back to Australia, but it just wasn’t possible. I know she’ll try and watch it from her home. I loved what she brought to the show last year.”
“We’ll really miss her energy and her crazy guesses,” she said. “A lot of her guesswork got cut from the episodes last year. So myself, Hughesy or Dannii Minogue would often be like, ‘Um, Lindsay, no, I don’t think Lady Gaga has come to Australia to dress up as a prawn on The Masked Singer.’”
The publication adds that it’s unclear if the judging panel will be expanded to five to accomodate both Lindsay Lohan and Urzila Carlson (I bloody hope so!).
Lohan also shared the news while speaking to Abbey Mikkelsen, a producer on The Ben, Rob & Robbo Internet Show, as shown in a text message exchange provided to TV Blackbox (check it out here).
Filming for the next season of the show is likely to take place around the middle of 2021. Buckle up, bbs.
