Lauren Lapkus Will Fuck Shit Up With The ‘Step Brothers’ In A New Comedy

Prestige Worldwide lives to ride again, dear friends! But this time there’s a mystery afoot.
Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly last starred in a film together back in 2008 for the highly beloved ‘Step Brothers,’ but they’re about to saddle up once again, and as an added bonus the ABSOLUTELY FREAKING WONDERFUL Lauren Lapkus is coming along for the ride.
A little while back it was announced that Ferrell and Reilly would be starring in the upcoming comedy flick ‘Holmes & Watson,’ a reportedly “PG-13” funny take on the iconic Sherlock Holmes character.
Today, however, we’ve learned that Lapkus has signed on for the film, filling the lead female role in the movie.
In case you don’t already know (you should) Lapkus is arguably best known for her role Susan Fischer on ‘Orange is the New Black‘ and last appeared on the big screen in ‘Jurassic World.’ Those of you with keenly defined nerder regions would’ve also seen her on stage with Scott Aukerman and Paul F. Tompkins on the recent Comedy Bang! Bang! Australian tour.
So sayeth Deadline, Lapkus is gonna be filling the role of “Millie,” a rival brainy person who “has a mind that gives Sherlock a run for his money, and as a result he becomes very taken with her, somewhat obsessed.”

Which is all well and good provided it doesn’t get lazy and dive into the standard love-interest territory. Could probably do without 50-year-old Ferrell making leery faces at 30-year-old Lapkus to be quite honest.
That aside, the film is being directed by ‘Get Hard‘ helmer Etan Cohen, from a script that he also wrote.
Ferrell’s now-ubiquitous Gary Sanchez Productions is manning the nuts and bolts for the project, which does not have a release date as of yet.
But hey, with a cast and premise like that? Colour us keen.
