LaBeouf Not Shia About Performing Unsimulated Sex For Lars Von Trier

The great lengths Shia LeBeouf will go to in order to distance himself from his Transformers and Holes-related roots continue to astound with news that the actor will perform unsimulated sex scenes in Nymphomaniac, the latest cinematic offering from avant-garde Danish filmmaker, Lars Von Trier.

LaBœuf Bourguignon told MTV News that “[Von Trier] is very dangerous. He’s the most dangerous dude that I’ve ever showed up for. I’m terrified. I’m so terrified, which is why I have to go. We’ll see what happens.

Nymphomaniac is what you think it is. It is Lars von Trier, making a movie about what he’s making. For instance, there’s a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says we’re doing it for real. Everything that is illegal, we’ll shoot in blurred images. Other than that, everything is happening… It’s going to be a wild movie.

So if you push aside non-sequituirs like “it is Lars von Trier making a movie about what he’s making,” we can pretty much deduce that LaDouche will be one-upping his artsy nudity from that Sigur Rós video with IRL sex scenes in the two part erotic thriller.

Nymphomaniac will follow the sexual development of a woman played by recurring von Trier muse and Parisian royalty, Charlotte Gainsbourg, from her youth through to middle age. Also returning from 2011’s Melancholia will be Stellan Skarsgard who will play her husband, and Our Nicole Kidman, who is rumoured to also have a small part and appeared in the director’s striking, theatrically staged 2003 drama Dogtown.

Unsimulated sex in Nymphomaniac won’t be a first for either mainstream cinema or von Trier, whose nihilistic thriller from ’09, Antichrist, used porn actors to stage similarly explicit sex scenes. It will, however, be a first for LaBuff and will no doubt divide audiences on an even greater scale than the one usually associated with everything Lars von Trier has ever done.
