Kyle & Jackie O Will Continue To Infect Airwaves, Set To Sign With Mix 106.5

After indulging in the heady throes of the national holiday that was declared on Thursday when news came in that Kyle and Jackie O were calling it quits with Austereo and 2Day FM, today we are being dealt a cruel hangover/slap in the face with news that the mystifyingly successful duo will be station hopping to Mix 106.5 next year, according to the Sunday Telegraph. Same same but different.

The Sunday Telegraph claims that Kyle Sandilands and Jackie Henderson are “in the final stages of negotiations” with Mix 106.5 which will see them waking up the masses in the coveted Breakfast timeslot with their unique brand of on-air gaffes gone alarmingly wrong

The deal is said to be of slightly less value for the pair than their earnings at 2Day FM, but rest assured, you guys, they’ll still be earning a minimum of $1 million per year for doing whatever they do every morning. The game changer in their deal comes virtue of a weekly show that will be broadcast through the station’s association with Clear Channel, to more than 100 TV stations across the world, including those in the UK, US and the Middle East. That’s right, Kyle Sandilands’ distinctly for radio face will be broadcast to millions.

Speaking with the Daily Telegraph, the Australian Radio Network chief Ciaran Davis gushed with palpable energy about the contract. “Kyle and Jackie O are a great team – one of the best breakfast shows in the world. They have a unique on-air dynamic that is very difficult to replicate, and on first glance we believe they could work well with our audiences,” said Davis, who has clearly never listened to Kyle and Jackie O ever.
