Uhmm can I watch now pls now.
They’ll be joined by Ike Barinholtz from The Mindy Project and Workaholics‘ Jillian Bell, in the show about a group of friends in America‘s south, “who are always broke as a joke“, struggling towards the lofty, pretty much unattainable American Dream.
The 13-ep series is due to air in the 2019-2020 season.
Mmhmm, yep, definitely needed another impressively cast cartoon to add to our massive watchlist, yep, definitely (see: Disenchantment, BoJack Horseman).
Rudolph and Wiig of course have plenty of chemistry together from their time on Saturday Night Live, then in mildly subversive rom-coms-that-are-also-about-friendship Bridesmaids and Friends with Kids.
The series’ creator Emily Spivey wrote for the gals on SNL, for Rudolph on Maya & Marty, and on Masterminds, a movie we missed somehow but now really wanna see staring Wiig, Owen Wilson, Zach Galifanakis and Leslie Jones.
Fox’s pres of entertainment, Michael Thorn, sung Spivey’s creative praises:
Emily Spivey has the uncanny ability to observe the simplest qualities of everyday life, framing together bold characters and hilarious stories built around warmth and heart. Having grown up in a close-knit southern family, she has a deep well of material that has inspired her to create this show, with a phenomenal cast, headlined by Kristen, Maya, Jillian and Ike. As home to television’s most iconic animated families – the Simpsons, Griffins and Belchers – we’re thrilled to welcome the Harts to Fox.
Wiig, Spivey, Seth Cohen, a real writer-producer man with your favourite O.C. character’s name, and The Lego Movie writer-directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, are down as executive-producers.
Pls accept this dancing .gif as proof of how keen we are for Bless the Harts.
