Gotta say, it’s nice to see that we live in a society where people (for the most part) aren’t falling for the BS sKiNnY sHaKe craze that we once gulped like fools back before we were more educated and are pushing back on celebs who make money from endorsing them to their impressionable fans.
Take Kim Kardashian, for example, a woman who would evidently endorse anything for a buck. Despite the fact that she and her husband Kanye West have more money than God, she’s still taken to Insta to announce that she’s partnered with a skinny shake brand and are you fucking kidding me with this?
Just take a look at the post below, would ya?
The backlash to her latest endorsement was fast and heavy, with followers shaming her for promoting the prod that has been slammed by many.
“This is extremely disappointing,” one commenter wrote. “A huge young female following… not an ideal post! It also seems to go against what I’d imagine your trainer would advise. Surely you can financially afford to avoid this gig.”
Another follower said, “Stop selling this garbage to us. Celebrate the fact that you work out and eat well.”
And another wrote, “Literally can’t believe you’re being paid, and willingly advertising a ‘shake’ that’s basically just laxatives towards an audience that is mainly young girls and boys. This is promoting weight loss in such an unhealthy way.”
The backlash follows a tirade by Jameela Jamil who absolutely rinsed celebrities for endorsing “nonsense ‘detox’ tea” products on their social media accounts.
She shared a prior post by Kimmy K and wrote:
“No. Fuck off. No. You terrible and toxic influence on young girls. I admire their mother’s branding capabilities, she is an exploitative but innovative genius, however this family makes me feel actual despair over what women are reduced to.”
