The Good Place star Jameela Jamil has absolutely rinsed celebrities for endorsing “nonsense ‘detox’ tea” products on their social media accounts.

Jamil particularly came for Cardi B after the artist posted a video of herself promoting Teami Blends. According to the brand’s website, the product is an all-natural detox.

You know how it works – brands approach celebrities/bloggers with a shitload of followers, they strike up a $$$ deal, it’s a win-win opportunity.

Upon seeing the post, Jamil took a screenshot of the video and shared it on Twitter with the caption: “They got Cardi B on the laxative nonsense ‘detox’ tea. GOD I hope all these celebrities all shit their pants in public, the way the poor women who buy this nonsense upon their recommendations do. Not that they actually take this shit. They just flog it because they need MORE MONEY.”

Bloody hell.

“If you want to “curb your appetite” eat some damn vegetables or have some nutritious natural vegetable soup,” Jamil continued in a separate tweet. “Don’t drink these ‘detox’ teas. You need fibre! Not something that honestly just makes you have diarrhoea the day you take it and constipates you in the long run…

“Generally just don’t ever take diet advice from women who know nothing about nutrition/basic advertising ethics. IF you want to get healthier, talk to a trainer/doctor.”

Back in May, the actor denounced a post made by Kim Kardashian which promoted “appetite suppressant” lollipops from Flat Tummy Co.

“No. Fuck off. No. You terrible toxic influence on young girls,” she wrote on Twitter at the time.

Kardashian’s post received so much backlash she ended up removing the caption.

Just yesterday, Jamil criticised Flat Tummy Co for perpetuating the “RIDICULOUS shame women are made to feel when they indulge on days like Thanksgiving.”

“I hate this company and it’s poisonous rhetoric that is only marketed to young girls.”
