Update: The Mayor of Florence has said that Kim and Kanye are definitely getting married in Italy, but to be honest, we believe an anonymous TMZ source over an Italian politician.
According to reports from TMZ, croissant enthusiast and noted sociopath Kanye West has chosen to tie the knot with Kim Kardashian at the Palace of Versailles. Nothing is confirmed as yet, but everything they do has to be more lavish and over-the-top opulent than anything anybody else does, so the location certainly fits.
As anybody who’s seen a Sofia Coppola movie or, failing that, read a history book, would know, Versailles was the home of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. The pair’s insanely luxurious lifestyle made them the one-percenters of their day, and helped spark a little skirmish known as The French Revolution, which didn’t really end well for either.
Fun fact, though, according to Wikipedia, there is actually “no evidence” that Antoinette ever uttered the phrase “let them eat cake” on learning that the peasants were all out of bread. Wikipedia is clearly an unimpeachable source, so the next time you see someone pull that cliche out in relation to Kim and Kanye, you can go ahead and let them know they’re full of it.
