Karl Stefanovic Apologises For Questionable Cricket World Cup Banter

The TODAY show host more of you prefer, Karl Stefanovic, issued an apology – of sorts – on air this morning, following a number of questionable remarks made during yesterday’s show in the course of inadvertently hazardous banter with a group of cricket fans who “gave as good as they got.”

If you need to revisit that episode, you can do so here. You can assess Stefanovic’s self-deprecating apology below, in which he defends the “light-hearted” intention of the original quip while also apologising for calling our New Zealand brethren “dole bludgers [which was] an awful cheap stereotype – and just not true. As we all know, you can’t get the dole in Australia.”
He also manages to slip in the requisite bestiality dig.

Never change, Karl.
