Karl Lagerfeld Releases Silent Film

Karl Lagerfeld is a busy man, a week after releasing his 5euro coin, Mr.L is back this time releasing his own film. Karly’s latest output is a 10minute encyclopaedic silent film of Gabrielle Chanel’s early years. Mr.L directed the glamorous big budget bad boy which is due to be shown in conjunction with Chanel’s Paris-Moscow, luxury pre-fall ready-to-wear collection. Surprisingly, or maybe not so surprisingly if you consider the budget that was thrown in film’s direction, it took only 48hours to shoot.

Lagerfeld thinks we’re ready for silence again: “Today, people are ready for silent movies again, as they spend time-hours, I would say looking at text messages and e-mails. I always loved silent movies.”
