When Gossip Girl actor Ed Westwick / Chuck Bass was in Australia last week he told Pedestrian his next stop was Paris for an on-location shoot for the third season. We were so engrossed with his dazzling conversation skills (also see: ‘smouldering manliness’) that another Paris-based event would be playing out concurrently: Couture Fashion Week. Of course, Gossip Girl‘s greatest asset (Chuck Bass’s one-liners notwithstanding) is the incredible wardrobe, so a sojourn to the world’s fashion capital makes as much sense as sending Carrie off to gay paris for fluffing about in yards of ruffled Versace Couture and giant Sonia Rykiel rosettes for Sex In The City.
Karl’s latest creative endeavor has been a move into filmmaking but rumours are rife that his interests might also lie in front of the camera, after several rendezvous’ with various Gossip Girl stars have sparked speculation that a Karl Lagerfeld cameo could be on the cards. He was seen hanging with Blake Lively on set, and Leighton Meester sat front row at yesterday’s Chanel collection next to Karl’s favourite young actress Clemence Poesy – who also happens to be guest starring on the show.
While that is nothing but random speculation, if they pulled this off we think Lagerfeld’s gift for bitchy one liners and fondness for suit wearing would serve him well as the evil foreign uncle of Chuck Bass. Here’s hoping…
