The first week of January has been a hell of a year, so we’d forgive you if you already forgot about the wild rumour that Kanye West, seemingly separated from wife Kim Kardashian, is having some kind of an affair with Jeffree Star.
If you missed out on all that, well, here’s a quick summary: all the way back on Wednesday, the internet lit up with rumours that Kanye, in the middle of a rumoured divorce from Kim, had been seeing a very famous beauty influencer.
TikTok star Ava Louise was behind the rumour, and although she didn’t name the influencer, she heavily hinted that it was Star. He himself ate up the attention, and joked about the gossip for several days before admitting that it was false.
Since then, Ava Louise herself has admitted that she made up the entire story for attention. Per a voice message she sent when asked about the situation, she said:
“I’m literally not even getting sued. I made the entire scandal up. There is literally not one bit of truth to anything I have said. I just tricked the entire world into talking about me again because I was on a lot of Adderall.”
She then turned the camera on herself, saying: “And that’s on being an icon. We all had fun though, didn’t we? You’re welcome for the memes.” So there you have it.

Speaking about the alleged affair this week, Jeffree Star told his YouTube followers that he’d never even hung out with Kanye, adding: “Let me say this one time: I like very tall men.”
Jeffree is reportedly 6’1 while Kanye is a feisty 5’8. Oop. While the greatest and weirdest love story of our time is over before it began, we’ll always have this extremely shady quote to keep us warm.
