Jackson family patriarch, Joe Jackson has died at age 89 in Las Vegas, TMZ reports.
He was reportedly hospitalised last month with terminal pancreatic cancer.
His son, Jermaine Jackson told the media last week that the family have been “hurting” since his health took a turn for the worse.
“No one knew what was going on — we shouldn’t have to beg, plead and argue to see our own father, especially at a time like this.”
“We have been hurting. We were not being told where he was and couldn’t get the full picture. Even from the doctor. My mother was worried sick.”
Just days after the interview was published, TMZ reported that Joe’s wife, Katherine, their children and grandchildren went to visit him in hospital.
Meanwhile, a Twitter account claiming to be Joe posted the following tweet just last week:
“I have seen more sunsets than I have left to see. The sun rises when the time comes and whether you like it or not the sun sets when the time comes.

However, Joe’s granddaughter Paris Jackson denied that it was written by Joe himself.
“This is a beautiful tweet though it upsets me to see whoever is in charge of this account taking advantage of it. my grandfather did not tweet this. I’m not sure if he’s ever used this account.”

RIP Joe Jackson.
A tough, uncompromising, charming & complex man who drove his children from the mean, poor streets of Gary, Indiana to global stardom. But at what cost? He made no apologies when I interviewed him in 2013: ‘I did what I had to do to give them a better life.’ pic.twitter.com/WCz4mXHjYM— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) June 27, 2018
