Joe Hildebrand Joins Ten’s New Morning Show Panel

Channel Ten
’s new morning show has received its latest addition, the prolific, often vexing, Joe Hildebrand. He’ll be joining the show’s first revealed panelist, Australian of the Year and media mogul Asher Keddie Ita Buttrose

Admittedly, the show will have an incredibly easy act to follow: last year, Channel Ten struggled with the eternal wooops that was its failing Breakfast. Channel Ten seemed to pride itself on their risqué decision of having the ~controversial~ wet blanket Paul Henry lead the show (spoiler: it wasn’t daring; it just turned out to be a poorly chosen risk after all). This time round, they’re opting for a similarly polarizing Hildebrand, who is no stranger to a good, old fashioned rant.

Columnist and regular guest on every show on Australian TV ever (Q&A, The Drum, The Morning Show, Paul Murray Live and Dumb, Drunk and Racist), Hildebrand seems to be fairly giddy with the news that he’ll be broadcast to the nation five mornings a week:  “I have done a huge amount of things in my time as a journalist, but my whole life there have only ever been two goals that really mattered to me: to appear on television with Ita Buttrose and to beat Larry Emdur at his own game. Finally with this new show, I can achieve both these dreams.” Well, Hildebrand, if the price is right.

The morning show will go to air later this year, along with an announcement of a new Breakfast show. With the news we can already hear Karl “Karlos” Stefanovic mirthfully devising his troll tactics to sabotage the prgrams; we can’t wait.

Hildebrand will also be releasing his elegantly titled, Shitsville Express, on ABC 2 next Tuesday.

If this pontification is anything to go by, Channel Ten is set to indulge in a shouting match from 9am every day. Good morning!
