Channel Ten Announces New Breakfast Show Line Up To Rival Karlos

Channel 10 has announced the line up of their new breakfast show, Wake Up, in an attempt to assemble a morning schedule to cure their ratings woes.

With a panel including James Mathison, Natasha Exelby, Natarsha Belling and Nuala Hefner, the pleasingly diverse line up is likely to get sick of that cheeky, stray “r” that distinguishes Exelby’s and Belling’s first names, and may well be the demise of its happy-go-lucky, cheery format.

Math, Tash, Tarsh and Hefner will put in their best efforts to upstage the current breakfast show royalty, Kochie and Karl Stefanvoic on Channels 9 and 7 respectively, but let’s be honest, unless James Mathison can conjure up a similarly genius Hispanic alter ego and his costars can come up with a dazzling catch phrase that can contest “stick that one up you karlos!” then they should probably quit before they get to deep in an impossible competition; the man’s unstoppable:

Wake Up will begin broadcasting later this year, direct from the Manly Surf Clubhouse, with Hefner dialing in news bulletins from Melbourne. Following Wake Up will be the currently unnamed morning show hosted by panelists Joe Hildebrand and Ita Buttrose.

Channel Ten also announced that James Mathison’s BFF Andrew G (who now goes by Osher Gunsberg, cool story) will host the next season of The Bachelor; West Indies champion Sir Viv Richards will join Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Mark Waugh and Damien Fleming on the commentary team for the T20 Big Bash League; Alisa Camplin and luckiest guy in the world Steven Bradbury will join Ten’s 2014 Winter Olympics coverage.
